Individual Therapy for Children, Teens, or Parents

We approach each client with an assessment that involves interviewing the parent(s) and child to develop a good understanding of what is contributing to the issues raised, which then informs the evidence based treatment plan. Types of therapies include:

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Dialectal Behaviour Therapy Informed Interventions (DBT)
Parent Management Training

Psycho-Educational Assessments

This is a comprehensive assessment that helps identify a persons strengths and weaknesses in term of their thinking skills, academic skills, as well as social and emotional functioning. The goal of this assessment is to provide realistic and valuable recommendations for the child, parents, and school to help the child achieve their full academic potential.

Family Therapy

The first step is to meet all identified family members to develop common goals (e.g., improve communication skills, clarify roles, reduce arguing, etc.). Next, gather information from all family members to develop an understanding of what is contributing to the identified concerns. Finally, use this information to inform the treatment plan that tailors the use of  Cognitive Behaviour Family Therapy for your family.

Forensic Assessments:   Youth Justice

Guided by the Risk, Need, and Responsivity model, conduct assessments for youth in conflict with the law. The results of these assessments can help the courts and other service providers to implement  interventions to help reduce the risk for further involvement in the Youth Justice System.
